Today again, I am interviewing in French with French subtitles, a wonderful artist from Pélussin, the little French village where I moved to. Isn’t it adorable? And yes, it’s still snowing here… Spring is close though!
Meet my fabulous neighbor, Florence Lemoine: another talented French person you’ll get to meet when you join our Full French Immersion Weeks this coming September!
You’re about to meet Florence Lemoine, a glass blowing & spun glass artist whose workshop is located about one minute away from my home…
…and that’s very dangerous because she makes gorgeous jewelry, sculptures, lamps, and light fixtures, and I want to buy it all!!!!
Watch the video and you’ll see what I mean!
Now that you’ve watched the video, you’ve seen Florence making a glass pearl. I love how she mixes the 2 different sticks, the 2 different colors of glass, and how she skillfully adds the thin sheet of silver in between.
I really enjoyed watching that process and found it mesmerizing!
What do you think?
Because we cannot perfectly see the result on the video, here is the picture of the pearl she made in front of you. Also, can you see the transparent stick next to the pearl? That’s what she used to make it. From stick to pearl! The joys of creation and transformation!
And here are some more pictures of the gorgeous things Florence Lemoine makes, the Pélussin artist you’ll meet in person when you join our Full French Immersion Trips this coming September. We still have a few spots available for our intermediate group (Sept 10 to 16) and our beginner group (Sept 24 to 30). More info HERE.
And of course you’ll see more on Florence’s website and on the video above!
Gorgeous, isn’t it?
What element did you find most interesting?
Which of the pieces you saw in the video do you wish you could take home?
The light fixture we show at the end?
But the other lamps are so pretty too! And what about the jewelry? Now this… I’ve already started taking home!!
Let us know what you think!
